Black Boo of Mambo Sauce on his responsibilities as an artist...

"As an artist I feel like my only responsibity is to make good music and give a good show. But, with that being said, I know the Lord blessed me with these talents for a reason. Not just to entertain but to inspire and encourage as well. Miracles is not just a song to me, I really believe in everything that's said in that song. I feel that everyone has a greatness about them they just have to figure out what it is and work hard as shit at polishing it. My ability to touch peoples lives will not be used in vain. It will not be used to belittle people and make them feel like they have no chance of getting where I am or where I'm going or where I've been. My responsibilty to the fans is to give as much time and energy to them as possible because if it wasn't for them my talent would be irrelevent to everyone but me. I know it sounds corny or cliche-ish but I really do it for the people. The genuine love that we get from people is the best part of this to me. Alot of folks come up to us and compliment us on the song "Miracles". Some people come up to us with stories on how we helped them thru tough times or how they made a drastic change in thier life for the better and we were the cause of this. Those stories are the ones that really make it all worth the time and effort. My responsibility to my community is to help uplift it. Chasing dreams you will inevitable have to venture outside of the DMV but always bring your findings back home. It's all about bringing it back home. Bring your money, your time and your information back to the hood so that they can use what you gained to take them places. DC has no one that they can look at and get the blueprint from because most don't come back once they get successful. I want nothing more then to see DC with many homegrown stars that's giving back to the community. That would change alot of lives and communities. That would change DC. The youth are so impressionable why not try to influence them to do something good with thier lives. Alot of artist denouce the role model position. I have no choice but to embrace it because now-a-days it comes with the territory. People say that the lost youth come from bad parenting and that may be true. But truth be told, some youngins don't have any family members that are responsible adults so they turn to the images and the songs that gets thrown in there face everyday allday. I will never knock any type of music publicly because I am not perfect and I will never paint that picture. Im real. I have real issues, I have real bills, I have real fears and I have real habits (Bad and Good). I just want to influence the youth to be real with themselves. Don't allow yourself to be boxed in and don 't be scared to be different. Be different not for the sake of going against the grain, but be different because you are."
